Located in the leafy suburbs of West London, this fabulous Edwardian home has become a real passion project for our clients, Jessica and Jonathan. Looking to restore the authentic period entrance and honour the original architecture, they contacted London Door Company to transform their entryway into an exceptional first impression.
Honouring the Edwardian Aesthetic
Jessica and Jonathan were eager to preserve many of the classic design elements that came with the original front door. High on their list of must-haves were intricate stained glass details, authentic Edwardian panelling, and a bold, deep colour that would make a statement.
After careful consideration, they selected our exclusive Night Forest—a rich, deep green that embodies the elegance of the Edwardian era. This front door colour is ideal for making a statement without overpowering the surrounding architecture, and it pairs perfectly with the red brick of the property.
Bespoke Stained Glass
No Edwardian door restoration would be complete without the characteristic stained glass panels. The original door had unfortunately become brittle over time and our clients wanted to reintroduce this feature while ensuring the door would stand the test of time.
Our designer worked closely with our clients to create bespoke stained glass panels to reflect the natural light beautifully, giving the entrance a sense of movement throughout the day.
A True Transformation
All of our designers are expert in period properties and can bring new ideas to any design to truly transform your entrance. We truly believe this restoration project is a testament to just this. For Jessica and Jonathan, their new front door brought not only aesthetic value but a deeper connection to the heritage of their home.
